Author Rev. Kola Ewuosho on 29th July, 2008. 03:55 EPHESIANS 5:15-17, COLOSSIAN. 4:5. God's will has to do with His plans and purposes on earth. It is dynamic in character, based on principles and gives God the liberty to do what He wants to do in our lives. The will of God is not passive or static. It demands our engagement, as we participate with God. Many are waiting passively for God's will to happen. The wait is usually endless. All His plans have processes involved. The individual will be processed to come into harmony with God's perspectives before the expression of the will can commence. Our lack of understanding of the process is what leads to frustration. When we are going through the process we are participating in His will. Esther, David, Joseph and Moses are examples. The principles involved in process are as follows. We come to a place where it is all about Him in us. The cross takes its role in us as we let the flesh go under, pride is confronted and dealt with and any other thing that may seek to take credit for what He is doing in us will go. The gifts in us come from Him and He takes the credit as we give Him the liberty to do as He wills in and through us. To understand we need to renew our minds Romans 12:2 and we also need to prove His will in our lives. As we internalize truth we confront our inner attitudes and yield to truth so our bodies indeed become the temple of our God just like the body of Jesus. Our will comes into alignment with His. Our will is to do His will. God is at liberty to express Himself in us, then we are at liberty to be all He wants us to be. Matt.11:28-30, God's yoke looks like bondage but gives great freedom. Satan's yoke looks like freedom but brings great bondage. Characteristics of God's will: It is in faith that you do and understand His will; you act on His Word. It is full of the character of God and has positive expectations. It is a lifestyle of giving and receiving and reaching out. We need to know the when, why and how of the will of God. Many think it is about 'making it', rather it is about being made to conform to the image of the Son. One example is in finances. God's will is that our receiving will outstrip our needs. Our receiving is directly proportional to our giving. Giving increases our capacity to receive. May God grant understanding. Rev. Kola Ewuosho |
