Author Rev. Kola Ewuosho on 29th July, 2008. 03:46 Anything that is seen can change. I am saying that now because more than ever before I want to see the way Christianity is practiced in this country change. I am talking about the United Kingdom. Any other thing seems to have a greater significance than the things of God. Sports, politics, fashion, entertainment, and just name it, you will get a ready audience to discuss these things but mention God and the whole atmosphere can change so drastically. One major point of conflict is the accurate understanding of the sovereignty of God and the responsibility of Man. The religious spirits have simply got in between these two issues and there is a war going on to ensure that those who want to know God are not too sure of what God will do or not do. So He is not a constant. This means they cannot really reckon with Him. Will He answer when we pray? Will He heal? Will He bless? The answer to these questions can be YES! God is sovereign and can do whatever He wants to do. No one can stop Him or query why He does what He does. When this is taken far enough then everything that happens can be attributed to God directly. That is obviously not true, there things that we do ourselves and we cannot say God did them. Of course there are things that Satan does and we cannot say God did them. The question is how do we know which is which? The other side of the debate is the responsibility side. Where man is held responsible for so many things. The law of cause and effect being taken far enough implies that God can do nothing except somebody or something here is the cause. That can also stretch things pretty far and man may end up full of condemnation for failing God so woefully. There is a middle course to take. Actually the middle course is always the place of balance. The fact is that to walk the middle course of any subject in the Bible is such that you will need to know the two sides of the road, see what each side carries as truth and then by the help of the Holy Spirit, stay in the comfort of the scripture and the balance of the Spirit which is a function of a vital heart relationship with God without allowing religious Spirits take advantage of us. The following major understandings will help us in our quest for accuracy in the things of God:
The word of God has the solution. If you seek God he will show you the way out and the way forward. In Romans 4, from verse 16, we read about Abraham, the father of multitudes, who had no child to start with. God calls things that be not as though they were, because He lives in the timeless zone called eternity. He sees the end from the beginning. His word paints a picture inside your heart. That picture is your future, a product of His promises. That is what hope is, an inner image in the heart. When the natural hope failed, Abraham allowed God's Word to give him a new hope. That hope was so powerful it changed him from the inside out. Meditation lets you get that Word established in your heart. You can see it, you will act on it and speak it and get the results. That is how we were designed to function. What is on your heart? Your past failures? Then you are planning to live in them again. Replace your failures and fears with God's Word through meditation and confession. That is where the work is. Getting the inner image to be in harmony with the covenant Word of God is hard work. Too many fear-borne prayers go unanswered and God gets the blame for it. In addition to this process, waiting in God for His wisdom to know the accurate timing and needed skill necessary to carry out the things involved becomes necessary. Is it any surprise that Faith is the assurance of things hoped for? The steps described so far are the steps of faith. It is time to speak to mountains after we are established in our hearts that we are mountain movers. In fact the continuous process of speaking and feeding on the word of God is part of the process of getting established in the Word. It is time to change all the things that can be changed by the power of the Word of God. God bless you. Rev Kola Ewuosho |
