In our family devotions in the mornings we usually pray using the pattern of prayer contained in our Lords prayer as seen in the Gospels. Lately the phrase, “Thy Kingdom come” has really stayed with me in my thoughts. God’s Kingdom, His Government coming on the earth through our spirits, souls and bodies is what releases His will to be done on earth. Many times we think of God’s will in terms of external activities like location and vocation. I perceive that God’s will is a product of His government being established in our lives first of all. The coming of His Kingdom on earth is only possible when we yield in our minds and wills to the principles, practise and attitudes of God’s Kingdom. The expression of the Kingdom in us will be the expression of His will on earth.

In Isaiah 9:6-7, we read about the Son being given and the increase of His Government being endless. It takes Sons to carry the responsibilities of the Kingdom.

Before we think of the earth being filled with His Kingdom, let us start with our own lives. In Matt. 5:3-12, we are introduced to God’s manifesto for His Kingdom. The nature of a people yielded to God’s Kingdom is the first mention of the manifestation of the Kingdom. A general overview is as follows:

Our birth into the Kingdom is similar to the birth of Jesus in that the Word produces us. A new nature was released into our Spiritual wombs. We let the new nature grow in us to the point that we begin to reflect the character of Christ. When we pass our tests we get empowered by the Holy Spirit like He was. When we submit to the will of the Father like He did, we overcome like He did. The constancy of the fellowship and intimacy with the Spirit of God which is only possible as we yield our spirit, soul and body to the government of God, all these will release the will of God into manifestation.
