» THE PLACE OF FATHERS IN YOUR DESTINY WALK (PART 2)
HOW TO IDENTIFY YOUR FATHER
  • Be faithful to God. God desires truth in the inward man. Ps. 51:6. Be true to God and your heart. Stop hypocrisy! This will help you to begin to hear the voice of the great Shepherd.
  • TRUE FATHERS will help you to be true to God and help your heart to know God's voice. Many times religious hypocrisy is the basis for a lot of the confusion in our understanding. Be honest and true.
  • The Voice of the Heavenly Father-God will become perceived through the voice of the father you are dealing with. The witness of God in this relationship is the greatest guarantee you have in yielding to the dealings of God through the relationship.
  • There will be a similarity of patterns in God's dealings in the leadings you have and what your father has. Remember, he is already walking with God; you are yet to undergo the dealings he has been through successfully. Your understanding will be sharpened by his. Not everybody will become a first-born of all fathers. You need to be content to fulfill your role in the life of your father and allow him to fulfill his in your life. It is God's way of perpetuating, sustaining and increasing His flow of Grace on earth. The sons should be more than their fathers eventually. Elisha labored (through God's grace and call on his life) to become a spiritual first born for Elijah. A double-portion is the inheritance of the first-born. God had trained Elijah himself, when he was sent to receive from a fatherless family. Elijah passed his test and became a father; Elisha passed his and became a first-born. More miracles happened through Elisha. Sons tend to increase whatever their fathers did.
  • Be willing to serve the Vision of your father. His vision has yours within. A father's vision can only be fully expressed when a son catches his portion within his father's vision. Elisha was told to go and do what Elijah did not do. Joshua was to continue from where Moses stopped. Without being imparted by Moses, there was no way he could go on from there. If you do not see your vision contained in the vision of your father, it is either you are a son not yet matured or you are in the wrong company. May God bring you to your own company. Deut. 33:7 is a prayer you should pray regularly. Everyone needs to have a company God has joined him or her to. The apostles had their company in Acts 4:23. We all need company as God orchestrates them. Your company believes in you and in what you believe. They believe in the God you believe in. They will stand with you in evil days.
  • The impartation of a father takes place in the medium of relationships. In heart to heart sharing, you have a strong witness: this is where I belong - in your heart. Your heart will be willing to accommodate human frailties in your father. A hunger for such sharing is also indicative of God-ordained father-son relationships.
  • I believe a whole lot of impartation took place between Moses and Joshua in the place of heart to heart sharing. Remember that Caleb was also fathered into his destiny and there was no competition with Joshua. No sibling-rivalry. Elijah also fathered the other prophets, but one was the first-born. All we need is to be diligent in whatever God puts in our hands and hearts.
  • Live a life of obedience to God and His Word - you will be drawn to your spiritual father. Sometimes, it is the father taking notice of a gift that helps the son to take seriously God's gift or dealing in his life. When a father notices the son's potentials, a fathering anointing attends to that potential in the heart of the father. A wise son heeds that unction to allow the potential to develop. You do not know what you can really do sometimes until a father tells you.

Don't fight the process, yield to the anointing of the father in that person to nurture you. Your spiritual father does not have to be so much older than you are. Many fail to acknowledge a fathering spirit and yield to it because; they consider the person God has sent to father them as their peers. Your spiritual father could be 2 years older than you or even younger but with spiritual experience that is proven! You will know your father and your father will know you! God will see to it!
