"Behold I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it" Isaiah 43:19. God is in the business of doing new things and as we approach a new year, we can anticipate some things to happen. Our knowledge of it helps us cooperate with God's ways of doing things. A new thing is about to happen and God is the doer of it. This thing will spring forth and we need to know what it is. Many things are involved in knowing and cooperating with God for the new things to come to pass. We read for instance that when the day of Pentecost was fully come, the Holy Spirit suddenly came into the upper room, Acts 2. We generally think He does things like that without anything happening to bring it about. The truth is He inspires us to cooperate with Him while we can or He causes things to be in agreement with His will so the new thing can come to pass. He has His processes to sharpen us for His purposes.

Our willingness to yield to the Spirit of God and our faith to appropriate His provision are two keys to God’s new things in our lives. The yielded heart says; Lord, what would you have me do? The heart full of faith says; I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! We yield for Him to have His way, and we take by faith what is ours in His provision. What ever has been provided in the Word is for taking by faith. When we get loaded with the Word there is a heart full of faith and acting on the Word will produce new things and helps us to give all the cooperation to God.

Our expectation plays a major role in determining the lifestyle that will get us to experience the new things that God will be doing. Our lifestyle is what determines whether we will experience the new things or if we shall just hear of it when it happens to others.

Our lifestyle comprises of our inner desires; our confessions to ourselves; our expectation and convictions. The willingness we have to prepare ourselves for a greater tomorrow. When preparation meets opportunity, breakthrough is round the corner. Opportunities pass us by daily and we don’t even know them, as we were not prepared for them. A lot depends on our state if we are to experience God’s new thing in the New Year. Are you ready for a sacrificial lifestyle? We need to let God’s Word build into us a new hope for a new future.

A new level is available at a new level of understanding, revelation and application. God has new things awaiting our willingness to walk into them.

In summary, We yield to the Holy Spirit, exercise faith in His Word, build our expectation on Him and hence we cultivate a lifestyle that will be conducive for God?s new things. Are we willing to press into the new level of revelation, understanding and application? If we are then God is ready to do anew thing indeed.
