Untitled Document Luke 6:38 says “give and it shall be given unto you: good measure pressed down shaken together and running over will be put into your bosom” This, like many other scriptures have been used to encourage greed and covetousness in the lives of many believer. The seed principle is scriptural but the application without the right Spirit has become a tool of manipulation and takes advantage of the greed in people to take from them and they get nothing in return. In 2 Corinthians 9:6, Paul makes it clear that there is a right application of sowing and reaping in giving money to others. Like in many New Testament truths the heart is the key to experiencing the reality of the truth. When the heart is not right the principle does not work like it should. For instance cheerful, willing and purposeful hearts are all conditions of the heart that will cause people to experience the things God wants in their life. Let re-examine the scriptures and understand the basis of our discussions. The seed principle is true in every realm. Whatever you sow you will reap. Words, thoughts actions and habits are all seeds and harvests of some sort. They all take time, they don’t all produce automatically and certain conditions are necessary for effective operations of the principle. From the parable of the sower in Mark’s account of the Gospel, the seed is the Word. That is a primary consideration. In Matthew’s account in Chapter 13, the good seed are the sons of the Kingdom. That is a secondary application. Because the seed in the good soil produces at 30-60-100 folds: different levels of production determine different dimensions of results. The spiritual goal of the seed principle is the reproduction of the life of God in our lives. The seed, when allowed to germinate will release in us the Life, wisdom and character of God. The condition of our hearts will determine how much results we will see in our life. When the seed of the word is not producing, can we say that the other seeds that the word stipulates will grow according to God’s will? This is an issue for deep consideration. Do our motives and focus matter to God? In the natural if we give to others there is an expectation that will get back. So if the seed principle is taken naturally then natural results should be expected. In Luke 16, we see the parable of the dishonest servant, who by some dishonest means was commended for using his position to guarantee a future for himself. His motive was not what was commended but his understanding of human relations and the use of position to enhance once future. The question we must answer is are we in this for God or for yourself? Do we want what God wants for us or what we want what we want for ourselves? Many are being lead astray because partial truth is being propagated and religious devils are taking advantage of this situation and many are being deceived by their fleshly desires. I believe God wants the best for His people but anyone with a wrong heart will use wealth for the wrong reasons. The Love of money and the deceitfulness of riches are all manifestations of hearts that are not prepared by God. God’s love will keep you from receiving increase until the heart is right. The blessing of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow but the blessings from other sources add sorrows. The blessings are not the riches, the blessings produce the riches. Please remember that Satan can make people rich. He told Jesus to bow so he would give him all the glories (wealth) of this world. Many today have bowed through compromise so they can come into worldly wealth. Their hearts are pierced with many sorrows. God’s true blessings starts with a prosperous soul 3John 2. A prosperous soul is one that is allowing the Word of God to do repairs, reconstruction and restoration on the inside. Truth, when allowed to confront the true state of your heart will begin the process of setting you free. Free from greed, selfish ambition, and pride. You are free to be blessed and not to be controlled by the power of wealth. Wealth without character is a sign of disaster going somewhere to happen. Satan uses the power and lure of wealth to control millions on earth today. Only those whose hearts are tried and tested by God will stand the test in the day of luring and influence of wealth. It takes living by faith(by the Word) and consistently giving of finances (sowing financial seeds) to grow in capacity to receive from the Lord His own prosperity for you. The true motive for giving should be love for God and humanity not so that you receive. God will make sure you receive as you stay in faith. Your giving should deliver you from selfishness and dependence on the natural so that God will truly be your source. Give wisely to a place where God is at work and He directs you to give. God works in you through his Word working in you. God is looking for faithful ones who will mature into Christ likeness. He wants to commit so much into your hands that is why you don’t give and then expect to reap a harvest the next day. This why I believe that it is the maturity of the seed of the Word in your heart that will determine the returns of the financial seeds sown. So many have allowed gimmicks and lies to stir their greed to motivate their giving, such giving do not touch anything in God. It is time to stop and think again. God wants us to prosper, how we relate with His plans and purposes determine how much He is willing to commit to us. He is not going to endorse what He is judging in others. He must be our focus not our needs or desires. His plans must take an uppermost part of our lives’ activities. The purpose of wealth is to establish His covenant on the earth. The covenant is represented by the Gospel today. The spread of the true Gospel is God’s desire today and He will commit His wealth into those who are involved in the nations for the sake of the gospel. If you are tired of believing the half truth about giving, the time has come to examine your heart, your giving habits, motive and focus. Do not grow tired of doing what is right, you will reap IF you faint not. The only way not to faint is to keep your focus on the lord and motive for giving should be a heart of gratitude towards He who gave you seed to sow and give as unto him, out of love. You are a steward of what you have from the Lord so giving to further His cause on earth should be your joy. Are you giving to a responsible and accountable place where God’s work is going on with transparency? God will grant grace and understanding. Amen.
